science-o-rama!
science-o-rama! is a science fair, or science project display, organized by your school and held at a location, date and time that you determine.
science-o-rama! may be an existing science fair or display, or a new one that is beginning this year. It can be as small as one class, or involve the entire school.
To assist teachers in holding a
science-o-rama!, The Synopsys Outreach Foundation will provide Science Project Support to teachers at schools in Hillsboro, OR and Marlborough, MA.
Expectations for Teachers
Name or rename your school's science fair "
science-o-rama!"
On all publicity and collateral materials, indicate that your
science-o-rama! is sponsored by The Synopsys Outreach Foundation.
Provide direction, guidance and assistance on an ongoing basis to students entering projects in
science-o-rama!
Confer with other teachers at your school participating in the Science Project Support Program to select a SCHOOL CAPTAIN who will order
science-o-rama! materials.
Key Provisions of a Science Project Support
A cash donation, based on the number of students preparing science projects. This is payable by check to your school or school district to be used
for each teacher preparing students for
science-o-rama!. The donation is to be used specifically for
science-o-rama! or generally for science related activities, including
but not limited to:

| • | Materials and equipment for science projects |
Materials DONATED to your school to enhance your
science-o-rama! including:
| • | Science Project Poster Boards |
| • | An Edison UV Meter (learn more at http://www.arborsci.com/prod-UV_Meter-1288.aspx) |
| • | science-o-rama! posters (10 per school) |
| • | science-o-rama! adhesive stickers (3" round) |
| • | "I Did It!" science-o-rama! participant ribbons (one for each student) |
| • | Rosette place ribbons (three each of first, second, and third place) |
| • | Certificates of Participation (with a blank space for student name) |
| • | Balloon Arch (assembled, 20 ft. long, delivered on the day of your science-o-rama!) |
NOTE: To order these materials, each participating school will be asked to identify a SCHOOL CAPTAIN to serve as a point of contact.
The SCHOOL CAPTAIN will be asked to submit ONE request for
science-o-rama! materials on behalf of all the teachers participating in the Science Project Support Program at your school.
Science Project Support Guidelines and Limitations
Science Project Support is based on the number of students preparing science projects.
The total number of Science Project Support Packages is limited.
Science Project Support is available only to public schools, or private schools with 501(c)(3) non-profit status. (check with school administrator if unclear)
Science Project Support is available only to schools or districts affiliated with a Synopsys Field Office Corporate Giving Committee.
All materials provided by the Synopsys Outreach Foundation, including but not limited to science project poster boards, ribbons, posters, certificates of participation, publicity materials, balloon arches, Kudos candy bars and science equipment, are donations made to schools and not to individual teachers.
Science Project Support Application
Science Project Support applications will be reviewed and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of Support Packages is limited!
