science projects. prepare students for life.
The Synopsys Silicon Valley Science & Technology Outreach Foundation enables and celebrates teachers and students developing science projects at K-12 public schools and private non-profit schools with 501(c)(3) status in California and select schools affiliated with regional offices of Synopsys, Inc. In addition to sponsoring numerous science fairs including The Synopsys Championship, The Synopsys Sonoma County Science Fair, The Synopsys Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair, The Synopsys Alameda Science & Engineering Fair and sciencepalooza!, foundation programs and competitions include The Advanced Science Research Facility, The Advanced Science Research Class, SuperSchool teacher training seminars, the Synopsys Outreach Foundation n + 1 Prize, Science Fair 101 for Parents and donations of science project poster boards and data collecting devices to eligible schools across California and parts of Oregon.
Some of your students may look to their parents for guidance in designing a science project. If the parents have little or no experience developing a science project, a Science Fair 101 presentation at your school might help.
Science Fair 101 demonstrates the science project basics for parents. The presentation is FREE, lasts around 30-45 minutes, is held in the evening and is appropriate for grades K-6.
sciencepalooza! is the annual science fair exclusively for students in the East Side Union High School District of San Jose. Approximately 1,000 students participate in the fair, held each year at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Their science projects are judged by professionals from businesses, schools, and universities throughout Silicon Valley. The 16th annual sciencepalooza! will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
