and Technology Outreach Foundation The Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Outreach Foundation works to promote project-based learning among students and teachers, primarily in Silicon Valley, and encourages participation in science fairs. Founded in July 1999, the Synopsys Outreach Foundation offers a program of teacher grants and training, grants to schools for materials and equipment, administrative support, project supplies, and incentives for teachers and students who are developing science projects for competition. By 2005-06, the Foundation had grown to support over 105,000 students and teachers annually engaged in project-based learning. This support is provided to select California schools, as well as to select schools affiliated with regional offices of Synopsys, Inc. The Synopsys Outreach Foundation serves as the major sponsor of the Synopsys Science and Technology Championship, the regional fair for students in Santa Clara County. The Foundation also presents sciencepalooza!, a science fair extravaganza for students in the East Side Union High School District, and sponsors a program of school-based fairs for middle and elementary school students called science-o-rama! Additional programs administered by the Foundation include The Advanced Science Research Facility, Advanced Science Research Classes and the Synopsys Foundation SuperSchool, an ongoing series of teacher training seminars. Please check our Calendar of Activities and this web site periodically for the latest information. | ||||
